Madison has been training at Straight Blast Gym since February of this year when she enrolled in our Fitness Kickboxing and Fitness Performance classes.
Before taking up Kickboxing and Fitness Performance classes, Madison was a decorated high school athlete. She is a veteran of volleyball, track, and basketball, and even played a year of softball in college. After graduating, she wanted to continue being physically active and being part of a team. Enter Straight Blast Gym.
When Madison first made contact with SBG Buford, she told us that she wanted to take part in something that would force her to push herself harder and unlock her true strengths and potential.
Almost a year later, and those desires have become a reality.
Fitness Performance Coach James Morton told us about some of Madison’s recent accomplishments at SBG Buford:
“She recently pulled 235lbs for a new personal record on deadlifts, and she is constantly setting new PR’s in all kinds of exercises and lifts. Not only that but Madison is also a great teammate. She always does a great job of encouraging her teammates and whoever she is partnered and her motivation is directly responsible for several of her teammates pushing themselves harder and hitting new PR’s.“
Maidson divides up her time at Straight Blast Gym between Fitness Performance and Fitness Kickboxing classes, getting in a fantastic mix of high-intensity cardio, strength training, muscular endurance, and aerobic stamina. The results of her hard work are not only evident by the numbers she’s putting up in class, but by her physical appearance.
Fitness Kickboxing Coach Carmen Garcia said this about Madison:
“Madison was in good shape when she started training here but now she’s just a boss. Not only has her endurance and conditioning improved but her actual kickboxing technique has gotten really good. I also really appreciate that she is always on time and ready to go when class starts. She brings a positive attitude to class each day which helps to bring all of her teammates up. She is a lock for my Tuesday and Thursday Kickboxing classes and I see her crushing it in Fitness Performance classes all the time.”
Coach Carmen isn’t wrong. For someone who had zero martial arts training before coming to Straight Blast Gym she looks awfully impressive. Watching her work the heavy bag during Fitness Kickboxing class and it’s evident that Madison can throw down!
