Tony came to Straight Blast Gym Buford in March, looking to make some major changes in the way he looks and feels. Over the past 2 months, he has done just that, having lost 10+ pounds!!
At 48 years old, Tony decided that he wanted to make some major life changes. He had been thinking about taking on Kickboxing or Muay Thai for years but, for multiple reasons, hadn’t pulled the trigger. He finally decided enough was enough and walked into Straight Blast Gym Buford‘s front door, ready to start some awesome new habits. Two days after enrolling in Fitness Kicboxing classes, he walked into SBG Buford ready to take his first class.
When asked about why he began training at Straight Blast Gym, Tony told us this:
“I looked for something different to really move me toward my fitness goals. During my SBG tour with Randy, I saw people working out in a way that would take me out of my comfort zone. I knew this was where I needed to be.”
Getting outside of your comfort zone isn’t easy, and a lot of times the thought of doing so keeps people from pursuing their goals. Tony took that big step and the results have been AWESOME.
In Tony’s first two months at SBG Buford, he has already lost 15 pounds!!
Tony’s first coach at SBG was Alex Caruso. Coach Alex immediately took a liking to Tony and told us this story:
“Tony is an Italian from Chicago so we both share a love for food. I had a class one Friday afternoon where we were in the middle of a nasty thunderstorm and Tony was the only one that braved the weather and showed up for class. Tony always gives his all in class, so I figured I’d give him a free private boxing lesson. He was incredibly coachable and we had a lot of fun. It’s awesome to see someone that’s ahead of the curve in age still trying their best, but also still learning new things.”
Tony’s positive attitude and willingness to do whatever his coaches ask of him has made him a favorite among the SBG Buford coaches. He is always on time, works hard, and leaves class with a smile on his face.
When asked about what he enjoys most about training at SBG Buford, Tony gave us the following:
“My favorite part of training at SBG is the Tribe. From the coaches bringing the energy and encouragement to my classmates pushing me and each other, it’s clear everyone at SBG is pulling in the same direction. We want each other to succeed. I look forward to every class.”
