  • Rachael Jankiewicz is Straight Blast Gym Buford’s Fitness Athlete of the Month for December 2021

    Rachael has lost 40 pounds since she began training in SBG Buford’s Fitness Kickboxing program this past July. 😮 👏

    This past summer, Rachael enrolled in our Fitness Kickboxing program in search of a change. Not just a change to her physical apperance, but to her daily routine and mental well-being. She had just lost her mother and was finishing up getting her Master’s degree. On top of that, Rachel works a full-time job and has two very active children, so she was very much in need of something to help her deal with stress.

    Prior to participating in our Kickoxing classes, she listed “running” as per primary way of staying in shape, but wanted something different…something more engaging….something more effective.

    Rachel jumped in with both feet, committing to making Fitness Kickboxing classes a regular part of her weekly routine. Rachael became a regular in our 9:30am Fitness Kickboxing classes with Coach Carmen Garcia.

    Coach Carmen gave us her impressions of Rachael:

    “Rachael fit right in. Not only is she awesome to coach but she has become quite popular with the other students in class. She’s incredibly coachable and her technique and conditioning has gotten so much better since last summer.”

    In addition to becoming a regular in the morning Kickboxing classes, Rachael has recently started adding strength & conditioning work to her routine in our Fitness Performance classes.

    “I’m an ER and Trauma Nurse and lift patients often, so I wanted to improve my strength. I lost a lot of weight in the Kickboxing classes and after several months I wanted to focus on adding lean muscle.”

    Performance coach James Morton said this about his new student:

    “Rachael is always looking to push and challenge herself in class. She wasn’t scared to trust the system and dive right into lifting heavier weights; something that can sometimes make new athletes nervous. You can definitely tell that she takes training and her fitness very seriously and it shows.”

    In addition to losing 40 pounds, Rachael has gone from a size 10/12 to a size 4/6!! 🔥 🔥 🔥

    Watching Rachael’s transformation has been amazing for all of her coaches at Straight Blast Gym Buford. Helping our students and athletes to make positive changes to their lives, whether it be physical, mental, or emotional, is our greatest thrill and ultimate goal. The fact that Rachael has made so many positive changes AND become such an excellent addition to the SBG tribe made her an easy selection for December’s Fitness Athlete of the Month.
