Tim Slater: National Coach Of The Year
We’d like to take a moment to celebrate the father of one of our Kids Jiu Jitsu students, Tim Slater! Tim led the Grayson girls basketball team to the school’s first state title, a 32-1 record, and a No. 6 spot in the MaxPreps Top 25. In this article Tim shows his humility by giving all the credit to his athletes: “But it all boils down to the girls,” he said. “It was a special group of kids from 1 to 11 who wanted to do it the right way.”
Runs in the family
Good leadership, consistent hard work, and a drive that can’t be stopped – must run in the Slater family! Tim and Kristin have raised an amazing son that we have the privilege to coach at Straight Blast Gym’s Buford location! Cameron is currently in our Leadership program (learning how to teach, coach, and lead), but he is also part of our Submission Samurai program, where he actively competes in Jiu Jitsu competitions. Cameron’s leadership and maturity, on & off the mats, have been remarkable, and we are very grateful to his wonderful parents!
Success & Hard Work Are contagious!
Tim & Kristin have been valuable to our Tribe and an asset to our Kids Jiu Jitsu program, by way of their son Cameron. Cameron is an amazing student (in school and on the mats!) and a fierce competitor! In fact, on May 11th, Cameron will be competing at Tap Cancer Out – a Jiu Jitsu tournament raising money to benefit organizations dedicated to bringing us closer to a cure for cancer! Help us in congratulating Tim on an amazing accomplishment & getting his son to his fundraising efforts!
His ultimate goal is to hit $800 by May 11. He would love your support! Even $5 would help him hit his goal! Click Here and help this young man & this amazing organization–> https://wecan.tapcancerout.org/fundraiser/5379745
Kids Jiu Jitsu is a family affair!
Thank you to the entire Slater family for being a part of the Tribe! We are so excited to continue seeing Cameron’s growth…and have nothing but confidence due to his ROCKSTAR Mom & COACH OF THE YEAR Dad! You guys are the epitome of TRIBE!
