The Gorilla Cup Jiu Jitsu tournament returns April 15, 2017
The Gorilla Cup is Straight Blast Gym Buford’s in-house Brazilian Jiu Jitsu tournament for men, women and children of all ages.
This is an ideal tournament for beginners to learn the ins and outs of competing in Jiu Jitsu and work some of the nerves out.
That’s right, it’s common to feel a bit nervous going into a tournament and that’s okay. It means you’re alive. What separates good competitors from the rest is their ability to push through the nerves and there’s no better way to do that than in the comfort of your own gym. Just like all other sports, there are lot’s of rules to keep in mind when competing in Jiu Jitsu and we use our Gorilla Cup to teach you the rules and how to use them to your advantage.
The Gorilla Cup is also a great way for our more seasoned Jiu Jitsu competitors to stay sharp.
There’s no better way to stay sharp than to compete regularly. Sometimes it’s hard to find a tournament close by every month and even if you could it can become expensive. At $30 for both gi and no gi, there isn’t a more inexpensive tournament around.
All of the proceeds from the Gorilla Cup BJJ tournament go back to our competition team.
Already n 2017 the proceeds from previous Gorilla Cups and other events have paid for 5 kids to compete at PANS in California and covered the blood and eye exam for one of our amateur fighters. So, even if you are not planning on competed, please stop in and contribute to the fund that keeps our competitors competing.
