In September, Straight Blast Gym Buford began to implement MyZone into our Fitness Kickboxing and Fitness Performance classes.
MyZone is an innovative and wearable heart rate based system that uses wireless and cloud technology to accurately and conveniently monitor physical activity. Our fitness athletes wear their MyZone monitors during their training sessions for several reasons:
– Track their workouts
– Hold themselves accountable
– Ensure they are getting the best results from their training efforts
– Compete against their fellow SBG martial arts and fitness athletes that are using MyZone
MyZone gives all of our martial arts and fitness athletes a ‘status’, to let you know where you stand in terms of your exercise and fitness progress. Your MYZONE status is determined by how consistent you are with your exercise on a monthly basis. If you earn 1300 MEPS (an acronym for MyZone Effort Points, and it’s the metric by which everything is measured in the fitness tracking system) in a month, you meet the minimum requirement for physical activity specified by the World Health Organization and you make progress towards the next MYZONE status level. That level is known as Iron Status.
The following Straight Blast Gym martial arts and fitness athletes reached Iron status in the month of October:
Aimee Cagle
Phil Gentry
Tyler Trump
Alex Caruso
Andrea Markovic
Ashley Prado
Autumn Sutterlin
Cory Hughes
Heather Felt
Elma Cepic
Khon Phaxai
Kit Fields
Lauren Hines
Tisha Poe
Lori Fenski
Manu Faure
Congratulations to all members of the Straight Blast Gym Buford tribe that achieved Iron status last month. If the martial arts or fitness athlete obtains 1300 MEP’s for three consecutive months, they’ll earn bronze status.
See you in the gym!
