  • SBG Atlanta: Buford Kid Of The Month!

Honoring Max Rees as the Student of the Month for November. Lets celebrate our student!

We are excited to share that Max Rees has been selected as the Kids Student of the Month in our Growing Gorillas, Kids Jiu Jitsu program! Max, at 12 years old (turns 13 in December! Early birthday wishes!!) fist became a part of our kids Jiu Jitsu Tribe in June and has demonstrated progress both during training sessions and in his demeanor. Max may come across as reserved at first glance, but his positive influence speaks volumes—he has truly impressed everyone here with his focus on learning new skills and gaining confidence along the way.

Innate Ability in the Art of Jiu Jitsu

Coach Montana speaks highly of Max’s ability to quickly grasp Jiu Jitsu techniques by watching tutorials and then flawlessly executing them during classes! Within a span of months, he has established a reputation for his eagerness to learn and willingness to seek clarity by asking questions—a trait that is truly valued by every coach on the team. Max’s commitment to both development and showing respect towards his peers resulted in a deserved promotion to our leadership team—a recognition that reflects his dedication and positive contributions within the group.

    Feeling More Confident and Connected

Coach Drew mentioned that Max’s parents have observed an improvement in his self-assurance ever since he began practicing Jiu Jitsu. Although he faced challenges connecting in traditional team sports settings before Max discovered a passion for Jiu Jitsu that has fueled his determination and commitment further. Presently serving as an inspiration to novice students, his demeanor and innate leadership qualities shine through. His progress serves as an illustration of how our Kids Jiu Jitsu and Leadership Programs can benefit athletes by fostering resilience, respect, and self-assurance.

    Wow Max!!

Congratulations on all your accomplishments up to this point in time—we’re thrilled to witness your progress with the tribe and are eager to see what you’ll achieve on your path ahead.
