Samuel and David Dodita are March’s Kids of the Month

The Dodita brothers just competed in their first Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competition…and man did they look great!

 

Samuel and David Dodita came to Straight Blast Gym in August of 2017, at the encouragement of their mother. The boys needed something exciting and engaging to do after school. Most of all, Olesea Dodita wanted her boys to gain a real sense of confidence. She recalls bringing her boys to their first Brazilian Jiu Jitsu session:

 

“As parents we wanted them to get in sports. David does great in swimming, and Sam is a very active kid, so we decided martial arts. The boys really like Jiu-Jitsu! Our oldest one, David, is gaining more confidence and Sam had an awesome time competing at the tournament last week. They really enjoy learning how to defend themselves in right way (without harming someone).”

 

In late 2017, Sam and David were invited to our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Leadership team…an invite only program for those who have gone above and beyond what is asked of them by their jiu jitsu coaches. In February, the brothers competed in their first Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competition at New Breed in Atlanta. Both Sam and David looked outstanding! Coach Sean Coleman was at the tournament and had this to say about their performance:

 

 

“The Dodita boys…did…awesome! For their first Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competition outside of the gym they looked far more relaxed and composed than what was expected of them. They walked away with some fresh medals that day too!”
