Richard Zuniga and Danilo Montecinos have been the MVP’s of Straight Blast Gym over the past 8 weeks. They’ve been in charge of the build-out at our brand new 9600 sq foot location.
Both Richard and Danilo are contractors, doing everything from walls, to floors, to painting, to grouting….you name it. When it came time for Straight Blast Gym Buford to move to a bigger and better location, these two Brazilian Jiu Jitsu athletes were the first guys that we went to for assistance.
Both Richard and Danilo have been handling build-outs and renovations for Straight Blast Gym Buford for many years. Their dedication to their work is only matched by their consistency and determination on the mat. Despite the long, hard hours that have been involved in building out the new location, both Richard and Danilo have been showing up to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes no less than twice per week, usually more.
“It’s part of my lifestyle, man; I’ve got to have it. I need to get on the mats and sweat a few times per week in order for the rest of my life to flow, both at work and at home.”
Both Richard and Danilo are purple belts in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, training at SBG for over 5 years. Richard turned 50 earlier this year, and Danilo will hit the big 5-0 later this month. That doesn’t stop either of them, as they’re always getting in the mix and training hard with guys and girls that are half their age.
Richard and Danilo are fantastic examples of what Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Straight Blast Gym are all about. They are fantastic training partners, and great representatives of our gym. Thanks for all of the help fellas. The new place looks great!
