Our next Iron (Wo)Man Brazilian Jiu Jitsu belt promotion ceremonies are set for May 13th and 14th.
For the first time in SBG Buford history, our adult Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Iron Man will host more females than males; hence, our inaugural Iron (Wo)Man.
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu sets itself apart from other martial arts in that receiving a new belt is something that is very time-consuming and requires a lot of work. Instead of martial arts athletes receiving a new belt (and paying for a new belt) every 6-8 weeks, promotions in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu can often take a year or more. When the time comes to be promoted in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, the martial arts athlete can rest easy that receiving their new belt at Straight Blast Gym Buford was well earned.
Here is the schedule for our Iron (Wo)Man martial arts belt promotions:
Monday, May 13th:
5pm: Jr. Gorillas
7:30pm: Adults
Tuesday: May 14th:
5pm: Chimpanzees
Here is a list of all martial arts athletes being promoted:
Jr. Gorillas: Mason Nixon, Daniel O’Riley, David Dodita, Sam Dodita, Gavin Ebert, Preston Ebert, and Richie Zuniga
Adults: Autumn Sutterlin, Alicia Dunlap, Courtany Tweito, Myranda Casanova, Ryan Dunlap, Jusin Munroe, and Joseph Moran
Chimps: Nicholas Silva, Aiden Coutu, James Hughes, and Jayden Burgos.
All SBG Buford martial arts athletes are encouraged to attend and be apart of the celebration. Those being promoted are welcome to bring their family, friends, and loved ones. Each martial arts promotee will be given a SBG Buford belt certificate, and a photographer will get shots of all of the action.
