Going into the Atlanta Open, Edward was on a mission to win first place and take home a gold medal. Having competed in the Atlanta Open several times before, he had finished in 2nd place on numerous occasions. This time, he was determined to stand on top of the podium.

The following weekend, Edward again took to the big stage, this time at NFC 112; a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu event held at Center Stage, in Atlanta. Competing in front of hundreds of his people and fellow jiu jitsu enthusiasts, Edward again brought his A game in route to a decision victory over a very tough opponent.
SBG Buford’s Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Head Coach Phillipe Gentry had this to say about Edward’s back-to-back weekend performances:
“I’ve never seen him so dialed-in. He puts so much time and energy into jiu jitsu and our Tribe; it was great to see him come out on top and get rewarded for all of his hard work. It made it even more rewarding that so many of his friends and teammates came out to support him.”
