At SBG we truly value celebrating members of our community and this month we’re excited to honor our Kids Student of the Month Daniel Vallejo!

    Introducing Daniel Vallejo

Daniel became part of our Tribe in March 2024 and has already left a lasting impression. Despite being 13 years old Daniel embodies the qualities we cherish in our students; commitment, strength in adversity and a wonderful sense of humor.

    Insights from the Coach

Coach Drew reflects on his encounter with Daniel; “I had a feeling I would get along with Daniel when I spoke to his mother on the phone to arrange their trial class. She mentioned, ‘I’m not worried if my son sheds tears during class. I believe it’s important for young boys to learn resilience.’ Daniel is a genuinely funny kid who understands how to perfectly balance when it’s time to train, when it’s time to train HARD, and also when it’s time to cut up and laugh and let loose. It’s a pleasure having Daniel as part of our class. I am excited to witness his growth, along with his family (both parents have joined as members since Daniel enrolled), as they become members of our Tribe.” Coach Montana, who leads the Kids Jiu Jitsu team mentioned, “He’s really good at understanding when it’s time to have fun and when it’s time to train. He’s quickly added a lot of tools to his game because he’s a great listener and good training partner. One thing I like about him is that he’s very practical in his approach to his Jiu-Jitsu game, which is not that common for kids. He is also not afraid to make mistakes and learn from them.”

    A Family Tradition

The Vallejo family has fully embraced the SBG community. When Daniel joined both of his parents also became members turning Martial Arts into a family activity. This shared experience has strengthened their bond. Provided them with a journey of growth, fitness and education.
