It’s time for our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
Iron Man belt promotions!
One of the things that makes Brazilian Jiu Jitsu different from other martial arts in America, is the amount of time it takes to earn a new belt. Like other traditional martial arts, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu uses colored belts to show progression of its athletes. Unlike other martial arts, achieving a new belt in jiu jitsu is not easy and it doesn’t happen very often. When it does….it is means for celebration.
At Straight Blast Gym’s all over the world, we do an Iron Man to celebrate and welcome a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu athlete to their new belt. An Iron Man allows all of our jiu jitsu athletes to participate in the event, as the new belt recipient will do a live ‘roll’ (sparring match) with every other martial arts athletes in attendance. At SBG Buford, we’ve had Iron Man’s go past 90 minutes!
On Monday, February 11th, and Tuesday, February 12th, we will be conducting our martial arts belt promotions during regular class times. We will be sending out a list of promoters in the upcoming days.
Parents, friends, and loved ones are welcome to attend the martial arts belt promotion ceremony.
