“You guys were actually the 3rd gym that I tried out. After I first met with Coach Sean I knew this was the place. He, and everyone I met that day, were so warm and inviting that I knew I’d found my new workout home.”
And so began Joy’s journey at Straight Blast Gym. She used to do group fitness style classes, and CrossFit, before joining a more traditional gym. Working out at a big box gym, by herself, just wasn’t getting the job done. It wasn’t motivating, and it wasn’t getting her the results she had experienced when training in a group fitness setting. She began looking at gyms near here, and eventually wound up doing Fitness Performance classes at Straight Blast Gym Buford. Coach Kristen Rhodes recalls first meeting
“When she first started she was very shy. You can see how she is more confident now! My favorite thing about her is her 100% effort on everything; no complaining, no quitting, just determination. We just finished up our squat series and this girl added 87 FREAKIN POUNDS to her back squat!”
What Group Fitness Coach Kristen is referring to is the
Joy credits her coaches for a lot of her recent success.
“There are definitely days when I don’t feel like training, but the coaches always keep me motivated. I know that they’ll even call me if I skip too many days, lol! They really care. The squat series was a personal victory for me. I’d gone through some health issues and seeing these kinds of improvements in the way I feel and perform is so incredible.”
