The Gymnastics Workshop is Coming in June!

On June 24th, we will be having our Gymnastics Workshop at Straight Blast Gym Buford.

 

Coach Sean Blair will be hosting a gymnastics workshop at 10am, on Saturday, June 24th. Gymnastics is one of the fundamental components of our Fitness Performance classes at Straight Blast Gym Buford, as well as a staple in the training of professional fighters, and CrossFit athletes.

The Gymnastics Workshop on June 24th will focus on handstands. Handstands are not only a key part of our training at Straight Blast Gym Buford, but one of the most fundamentally important movements that humans can practice.

 

Because they require you to stabilize your muscles to keep from falling over, handstands not only work your abs, they also strengthen your hip flexors, hamstrings, inner thigh muscles, and spinal muscles to create a balanced, super-strong core.

 

Handstands not only help you to make your core muscles strong, but they go a long way in building strength in your shoulders, tricpes, and upper back. Beginners will typically start to feel their arms shake after only a few seconds of holding a handstand. Learning to hold a handstand builds a tremendous amount of muscular endurance to your upper body.

As if all of that isn’t enough, the improvements to your balance will be noticeable almost immediately. When you do a handstand, all of the muscles in your body have to focus on keeping your body stable, building core stability that carries over to all aspects of your training.

 

Admission to the Gymsatics Workshop is $25 for the full 2 hours. The workshop is for athletes/CrossFitters of all experience levels. Even if you are not close to being able to do a free-standing handstand, Coach Sean will show you how to start from scratch. You do not need to be a member of Straight Blast Gym to attend the Handstand Workshop. All are welcome!
