We are excited to announce Emi’s selection as the Kids Student of the Month for September at SBG Atlanta’s Druid Hills location! Ever since Emi, 10 years old, joined in October 2023, she has swiftly shown her skills in talent and leadership qualities and has earned a spot in the Leadership Squad. She is also working towards earning her “Teaching” chevron—an amazing accomplishment at such a young age.
Emi’s skills are truly remarkable to watch in action—she effortlessly outsmarts her training partners with grappling moves that show her deep grasp of her craft! Coach Lawson describes Emi as an excellent listener who’s always attentive in class and a fantastic drilling partner for her teammates. Always ready to put in the work and give it her all! Her commitment and effort not only reflect in her performance but also serve as a positive influence for her younger brothers, who are part of the team too!
SBG Atlanta’s children’s Jiu Jitsu program that Emi is involved in emphasizes the development of traits like strength of character and confidence in young learners through organized Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training sessions. Allowing kids like Emi to acquire essential life skills such as resilience and teamwork while enjoying themselves and staying physically active at the same time.
Our program creates a setting for kids to flourish not only in their martial arts practice but also in their overall growth as individuals. Emi’s advancements serve as a prime example of what can be achieved through the right mindset and dedication.
Beyond her technical skills, Emi’s leadership qualities stand out. She is a role model for her peers, exemplifying what it means to be part of the SBG Tribe. We are so proud of her accomplishments and can’t wait to see her continue to grow both as a grappler and a leader.
