Khon Phaxai is September's Fitness Member of the Month
You’ll be hard pressed to find a fitness athlete at Straight Blast Gym Buford that is more physically active than Khon.
This woman has only been apart of the SBG tribe for the past 3 months, but she has already put her stamp on the gym. Khon wasted zero time in fully immersing herself into Straight Blast’s fitness program, becoming a regular in our Fitness Kickboxing classes. Within a month she was doing personal training sessions with Coach James so that she could be apart of our Fitness Performance classes, in addition to her Kickboxing training.
Fitness classes weren’t the only thing that that Khon immersed herself in, as Khon began participating in SBG’s social scene too. Khon struck up friendships with many of her fellow fitness companions, including fellow Fitness Kickboxing and Muay Thai athlete Tisha Poe. Tisha said this about Khon:
“She’s always taking initiative and making big steps in her life, both with her career and health. I love watching her go on runs and do workouts with her son, whom she incorporates a healthy and active lifestyle with. She’s very supportive and will push you if needed in classes. She’s a great motivator.”
It’s one thing to receive this kind of feedback from your coach, but to get this kind of endorsement from one of your teammates is really special. Khon brings an amazing energy and motivation to every class she participates in, and is the kind of person that makes you want to dig just a little bit deeper to push out that last rep.
Khon, and other women of SBG’s martial arts and fitness classes, have recently started getting together on the weekends to get coffee/brunch, shop, go for runs, etc. They recently all got together and ventured to Center Stage in Atlanta, to support Coach Tyler during his latest MMA fight.
