CT Greene is our Martial Arts Member for May 2019
CT Greene drives 46 miles to get from his home in College Park to Straight Blast Gym in Buford. That alone shows you his commitment to his gym, his tribe, and his team.
CT joined the SBG Buford tribe in May of last year. He had previous experience in mixed martial arts training but had been dormant for a couple of years after moving. On his first day at Straight Blast Gym he was asked “How long have you been thinking about getting back into martial arts?”. He answered “2 years. I’m tired of waking up everyday and just going through the motions.” Such was the beginning of his journey at SBG.
CT began training in Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, right away. Soon after, he put those martial arts skills together and began training with the mixed martial team. With his work-ethic and skill set, he began competing in MMA for Straight Blast Gym Buford shortly afterwards.
Straight Blast Gym Buford’s Head MMA Coach Phil Gentry said this about CT:
“That guy is a work-horse. It’s not uncommon for him to show up for Muay Thai training at 9:30am, and then stick around for my Jiu Jitsu class at 12pm. That’s the kind of dedication and commitment I’m looking for in my fighters.”
Last week, CT showed up to SBG Buford at 8am to do strength training for his upcoming mixed martial arts contest. He followed that up with Muay Thai class at 9:30am, and then Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at 12pm. As if that wasn’t enough, he finished out his day with a striking-sparring session at 6:30pm. Talk about dedication!!
CT’s upcoming MMA fight will be held on May 11th at the Harley Davidson dealership in Conyers, GA. Tickets can be purchased at SBG Buford.
We’re looking forward to seeing CT back in action on May 11th, and continuing to be apart of his amazing efforts and progressions in martial arts!
