  • Colin Conway Gets MMA Vicotry; 3 More MMA Athletes Ready For October

    General

On Saturday, August 11th, Colin Conway improved his undefeated amateur mixed martial arts record to 2-0-1 after securing a third round submission!

His first fight after dropping down from the 185 pound weight division to 170 pounds was a great success, with Colin controlling the pace and range for the vast majority of the MMA fight.  In the 3rd round he was able to drop his opponent with a left hook, before quickly securing a rear-naked-choke to earn the submission victory.

Less than a week later Colin is already back in the gym, feeling healthy and ready run it back.  But he isn’t the only one who is chomping at the bit to get in the MMA cage.

Straight Blast Gym Buford amateur mixed martial arts athletes Sean Coleman, CT Greene, and Tyler Trump are already slated to compete in MMA fights this upcoming October.  For CT and Sean it is a return to the cage. For Tyler, it is his first foray into mixed martial arts. With previous experience in kickboxing and jiu jitsu competitions, he is ready to put the two skill-sets together.

The SBG Buford mixed martial arts team is looking great, with several young athletes really shining as of late.  We are excited about Colin’s mma win and are looking forward to getting some of our other athletes in the mix!
