Clint Christiansen is a new addition to Straight Blast Gym’s Olympic Weightlifting team…and what a great addition he is.
Clint is a 44 year old Buford resident who wanted, and needed, a fun way to stay in shape. Not wanting the typical big box fitness center experience, he hit the internet in hopes of finding something more engaging and exciting. A fan of weightlifting, he came to Straight Blast Gym when he heard about the Barbell Club. Clint tells us about why he came to SBG and chose to join our weightlifting program:
“I had a strong desire to get back into the gym, but not just a run of the mill gym. I continually saw Coach Kristen Rhodes’ social media posts of her classes and workouts and it really seemed like a place I could go to be myself and have tons of support from everyone around me. It really stood out as a huge team/family environment where I could get in some awesome olympic weightlifting while having fun at the same time.”
Clint was an immediate hit with the olympic weightlifting members. Always punctual, always in good spirits, and always ready to work, his coaches knew that they’d found a fantastic new addition to the team. While not looking to do high level olympic weightlifting sessions, Clint is always in the gym ready to support his teammates, while also getting in pretty awesome shape himself. While pushing 45 years old, Clint is in the gym getting after it with the competitive lifters. Coach Sean had this to say about Clint:
“Clint is a newer addition to the olympic weightlifting tribe, but an awesome one. If feels like he has been here for years. There was no awkward, getting to know you phase with Clint. He’s so coachable and personable that you’d talk to him and think that he’d been training here since we opened 4 years ago.”
On Memorial Day, Clint brought is wife, Leah, to the gym to do Murph (a popular CrossFit workout) with the SBG crew. It was awesome seeing them train and sweat together. Clint and Leah have also joined us for some SBG and olympic weightlifting parties and celebrations outside of the gym, further cementing Clint’s place as a staple at the gym.
Great work Clint, and keep up the awesome gains!
