Chris Wigmore is November's Martial Arts Student of the Month for November 2020
Chris is a regular in our Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, and Kickboxing classes.
She began training at SBG Buford nearly two years ago, in February of 2019. Her daughter, Liz, had already been doing Muay Thai with the SBG tribe while Chris continued to train elsewhere. At some point, Chris decided to join her daughter and enrolled in SBG's Brazilian Jiu Jitsu program. Not too long after that, she began training in Muay Thai and Fitness Kickboxing classes too.
Chris' contributions to SBG were felt almost immediately, as she has become a huge cheerleader for our team and our programs. In addition to giving 100% effort in every class, she is always a safe training partner. Chris has also shared the love of SBG with a number of her friends, bringing them in to be a part of the tribe.
Muay Thai Coach Jim Sheppard said this about Chris:
"Everybody likes Chris. She's got a fantastic attitude and I don't think she has a mean bone in her body. She comes to all of our events and is constantly telling her friends about what we do here."
One of her frequent training partners in both Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai is SBG Buford Legacy member Lori Fenski. Lori added this about Chris:
"Chris is very dedicated to learning the art of jujitsu and always driven to do better. She is quite inspiring to me, and she is always encouraging other people in their journey no matter what they are doing at the gym. I am very grateful she is my friend and is a member of this tribe."
One of the things we enjoy most about having Chris with us is getting to train with her daughter Liz. They are often in class together and also do private lessons with Coach Woo.
